Welcome to Team Snow’s Walk to Defeat ALS Page. We walk in honor of 3 brave incredible men who lost their courageous battles to ALS: David Snow age 48, Bradley Snow age 53, and Matthew Snow age 28. ALS first effected this family in 2002 when David was diagnosed. It sadly took the lives of these 3 amazing men within 2 years of their diagnoses. For those of you who don’t know there are two forms of ALS: Sporadic ALS which is non inheritable and make up 95% of all ALS diagnosis and Familial ALS which is inheritable, and much more rare, making up only 5%. Sadly, the Snows have been afflicted with Familial ALS which means that if we do not find a cure another member of this family WILL receive this atrocious fatal disease. ALS robs you of everything you rely on including your ability to walk, talk, move, and eat. It eventually steals your ability to breathe.
Matt was the life of the party and one of the most compassionate and positive people on this earth. He followed in his father’s footsteps becoming a Correctional Officer for the Middlesex County Sherriff’s Office and refereeing football and umpiring baseball. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He loved Sports, he played football and lacrosse in High School and enjoyed playing golf and darts as well. He loved to travel with his family and friends. Within 1 year of Matt’s diagnosis all of what he loved to do was stolen from him. Watching him like his father and uncle try to do everything in his power to fight off this disease was almost unbearable for his friends and family!
Team Snow is made up of many friends, family, co-workers, members of their respected communities, and the ALS community as a whole. We have all made a PROMISE that we will not stop FIGHTING until we find a CURE for this horrific fatal disease. David, Brad, and Matt are three remarkable people who were taken from this world far too soon. With your help we can make sure that list never ever gets any longer!
Last year, thousands of people just like YOU helped raise $140,000 to help individuals locally in our community. Please consider a donation NO AMOUNT TOO SMALL to help us reach our fundraising goal, and to help those in this area who are fighting with all they have to overcome this disease.
Thank you so much for your support!
