How You Can Help

There are countless ways in which you can support The ALS Association Massachusetts Chapter.  Whether you choose to make a monetary gift, volunteer your time, or support one of our events, you will be making a difference among the entire ALS community.

DONATIONS

Your gift will help The ALS Association support research to find a cure for ALS and provide much-needed services to patients and their families. By becoming a part of the ALSA family and making your gift today, you will help sustain hope in thousands of people affected by ALS. Gifts to our Chapter Association are tax-deductible to the full extent of the Internal Revenue Code. The ALS Association (ALSA) is designated by the IRS as a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, and can be found in IRS Publication 78 as, "Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association," and at http://www.irs.gov/. To find The ALS Association, go to the IRS Web site and enter "amyotrophic" in the "Name" search box.  Know Your Rights as a Donor.

VOLUNTEER

The contributions of volunteers are essential to the chapter achieving its mission. Each year, our Chapter participates in numerous fundraising and information-based opportunities throughout our area. These activities create a multitude of tasks with which volunteers can easily assist, including administrative work and mailings, helping at various events and with patient services.  Click here to sign up as a volunteer!

CREATE YOUR OWN FUNDRAISER

In addition to our Chapter’s major events, we are supported by a myriad of third party fundraisers across the entire state.  Golf tournaments, casino nights, dinner parties and sporting events are just a few examples of how you can raise money to support our mission.  Any idea is a good idea, and our experienced fundraising team is here to assist you along the way!

DONATE YOUR VEHICLE

Have an old car, truck, or boat that you are looking to get rid of?  By donating your vehicle to Helping Hands of America, you will be benefiting The ALS Association Massachusetts Chapter.   You will get a tax write-off for your donation, the folks at Helping Hands will come tow your vehicle away at no charge, and  The ALS Association Massachusetts Chapter will benefit by receiving ongoing contributions from Helping Hands in the process.  For more information call 1-888-881-9090, or visit http://www.helpinghandsofamerica.org/.

CREATE A NAMED FUND

Opening a Named Fund is an easy process.  This is our opportunity to ensure that people afflicted with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis are always afforded the highest quality of care possible and our researchers are funded to discover the cure for ALS.  In partnership with you, The ALS Association Massachusetts Chapter’s vision of providing care today and supporting hope for tomorrow is one step closer.  Named Funds may be opened with an initial contribution or a pledge to contribute $20,000.00 within the first year.  The staff is here to work with you and will be as flexible as possible.  You may designate your fund to support a general category or a specific project.

PLANNED GIVING

By remembering The ALS Association Massachusetts Chapter in your estate plan, you create a legacy of hope for future generations of ALS patients and their families hope that a cure or treatment will be found and hope that comprehensive patient services can be found all over the country.  When making a gift through a will, living trust, or other estate plan, the following correct legal name should be used: The Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association Massachusetts Chapter.

WORKPLACE GIVING

SUPPORT THE ALS RESIDENCE
